Little Freak Glass Ornament by Cody Foster
A small pink oddball in glass, and proudly so. Novelty Christmas ornaments live or die on whether they are still funny in the second and third season, and this one has the strange, slightly feral charm that keeps working long after a one-note gag has worn thin.
Hang it in among the traditional pieces rather than off on its own, because the contrast is the joke, and a tree of nothing but funny ornaments gets tiring fast. It is a good pick for the friend whose humor runs a little sideways, for a white elephant swap, or for the branch you walk past a dozen times a day.
How do you make a Christmas tree look fuller with ornaments?
Layering ornaments at different depths, with some tucked close to the trunk and some out on the branch tips, is what makes a tree read as full rather than flat. Mixing sizes and finishes also fills visual gaps better than hanging everything along the outer edge.
